On Sept. 19, 2026, a business called The Pink Haired Dental Hygienist LLC registered in Erie, Pennsylvania. On Oct. 15, two dental practices, Marvel Smiles Westchester Dental PLLC and Marvel Smiles Stony Point Dental PLLC, filed with New York on the same day. And on Oct. 17, Thrive Mobile Infusion LLC formed in Longmont, Colorado.
They're a tiny slice of a busy category. Our October 2026 New Business Pulse counted 649 new healthcare and wellness businesses across five states. In Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas, 584 of 592 (99%) scored 70 or higher on our insurance-need score (1 to 100), and 523 were flagged Hot, the tier for high-urgency industries scoring 75 or more. We leave Connecticut out of October score figures, because its October scores included a business-email bonus that we removed from scoring on Oct. 19, 2026 (stored emails were deleted Oct. 20).
Here's what was in that 649.

The windows run from 7 to 16 days, so these counts aren't a ranking. Texas counts new sales-tax permits, not new companies.
What kinds of practices?
The Pulse groups everything into one healthcare and wellness bucket. To see what's inside, we searched the raw Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut state files for the same filing-date windows. These counts are before our filters, and one name can match more than one word:
| Name includes | New business names |
|---|---|
| Counseling, psychotherapy, behavioral health, mental health or psychiatry | 58 |
| Therapy (physical, occupational, massage, family and more) | 41 |
| Home care, home health or caregiving | 40 |
| Aesthetics or med spa | 19 |
| Dental, dentist or orthodontic | 17 |
| Medical transport, medical ride or NEMT | 12 |
| IV, hydration or infusion | 9 |

Mental health led the list. A few of the names: Moonlit Path Therapy Collective LLC and Lore & Lantern Therapy, LLC (both Colorado, Oct. 13), Laser Focus Therapy LLC (Colorado, Oct. 17) and Strangebird Mental Health Services PLLC (Connecticut, Oct. 10).
Connecticut, which asks new businesses for an industry code, backs that up. From Oct. 10 to 18, 2026, 18 new Connecticut-formed registrations reported NAICS 621330, offices of mental health practitioners. That's one more than reported janitorial services (17).
Home care stood out in Pennsylvania, with 24 of the 40 home care names, including Loved Like Our Own Home Care LLC (Harrisburg, Sept. 24). On the wellness side, there were IV-drip startups like Golden Bird IV Hydration, LLC (Gilbertsville, Pa., Sept. 23), plus old standbys like Back to Balance Chiropractic LLC (Mifflinburg, Pa., Sept. 21).
Colorado's medical-transport cluster
This one surprised us. In just nine days of Colorado filings (Oct. 10 to 18), 12 new businesses had medical-transport names, from "Medical Transport" and "MedRide" to "NEMT" (non-emergency medical transportation). The New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut files for their windows had none.
A sample: Support Care Medical Transport LLC (Aurora, Oct. 10), Safe Path Medical Transport LLC (Colorado Springs, Oct. 12), MMZ Medical Trans LLC (Denver, Oct. 15) and Gracious Non Emergency Medical Transportation LLC (Colorado Springs, Oct. 16).
Twelve names over nine days is too small to call a trend, but it's worth watching. These businesses sit between healthcare and transportation. Moving patients is the job, so vehicles and drivers are part of the conversation from the start.
Healthcare-sounding, but not patient care
- Bones Medical, LLC (Guilford, Conn., Oct. 13) sounds like an orthopedic clinic. Its reported NAICS code, 423450, says it wholesales medical, dental and hospital equipment.
- 814 Health & Life Insurance Agency LLC (Erie, Pa., Sept. 24) has "health" in the name, but by its name it's a new insurance agency. That's a competitor, not a prospect.
What it means for agents
- Healthcare scores about as high as the trades. Outside Connecticut, 99% of 592 scored 70+, close to construction (100% of 1,230) and restaurants and bars (99.9% of 1,360).
- The mix is wider than "doctors' offices." Counselors, therapists, home care agencies, med spas and IV-drip businesses all filed in the same few weeks, and each one has a different set of risks.
- More than one coverage conversation. Practices with staff, offices and patients can involve several lines, for example professional liability, general liability, property and, once they hire, workers' comp. Licensing and coverage requirements vary by state and profession, so check with the relevant state agency or licensing board.
- Look at the vehicles. Medical-transport and mobile businesses add an auto conversation.

About these numbers
Healthcare and wellness counts, scores, Hot counts and state windows come from the October 2026 New Business Pulse and its October 2026 CSV, published Oct. 19, 2026 (data snapshot Oct. 19, 2026). Score and Hot figures, including the construction and restaurant comparisons, are sums of the Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas rows and exclude Connecticut. Tier definitions are in our methodology. Source: UncoveredList, New Business Pulse (October 2026): https://uncoveredlist.com/pulse
Business names, filing dates, Connecticut's NAICS codes and the name counts come from each state's official open data, checked Oct. 24, 2026, for the same filing-date windows: the Colorado Secretary of State's Business Entities dataset, the New York Department of State's corporation filings (articles of organization and certificates of incorporation), Pennsylvania's registered businesses (domestic registrations) and the Connecticut Business Registry. The name counts come from the raw state files before our filters, so they won't match Pulse totals. We left out Texas names because many sales-tax permits are held by individuals. We use business names only, never owner or officer names.
